It could be anything from a open-door chime to a turbo spool to a cammed exhaust note. What's your favorite sound in the automotive world? Have a clip? Share it.

Listening to my wastegate open on a cold morning with the windows down, thanks to my intake right behind the drivers seat.

The sound of a V8 north of 9000 rpm.

Supercharger noises. I've ridden in an Passat with a PES G1 connected, it sounded like absolute Sex.

The sound of an engine exploding into life.

It's that moment right as the starter catches but before idle.

A V8 with a modified exhaust:

Or the BMW chime.

At the moment, it's this dinky little Triumph.

2 litres, 16 valves, 1 cam and all the world's aggression condensed into one little ball of hate and rage.

Blow off

It makes me feel like I'm a child. Whenever I'm going through an underpass or somewhere that reflects noise I intentionally get into boost and let off for the noise

Supercharger whine and induction noise - that seriously gets my jimmies rustled. A particular favourite of mine is the raw, savage shriek of unadulterated rage emitted by the S54 straight six in a E46 M3 CSL. 5:05 nearly made me wet myself.

A well-executed downshift in a sporty car with a good exhaust tone. Easy to please.

This clip wasn't here, 'tis a shame.

And while the rotary on WOT is sweet, I love how lumpy the idle sound.

I love me some vintage muscle car thunder, but there's just something about Ferrari's racing V12s from the 60s. In fact my ringtone is from a 250 GTO. I just wish people called me more instead of text.

I love the sound of the Audi inline 5:

The Nissan straight 6 in the Z cars sounds great when you wind them up:

Favorite? Hard to peg. Love the wail of the 787b.

This recently has joined the top of my list:

Here's one of the videos that fueled the lust to buy my current car:

The sound of the door closing on my fathers JPS. The door rings when you shut it.

Also, something about a supercharger pulley...

The sound of the door closing immediately makes you aware of that cars build quality.
